Waler vs Stock horse

Hey guys

Could anyone explain to me the difference between a Waler and a Stock horse? Ive been told they're pretty much the same thing is that correct?

They come from the same backgrounds.. Really are the same 'breed' but Walers were bred to big bigger and tougher because they were the pack/heavy horses. Stockhorses are just smaller

Are you sure about that Phantom?
I thought Walers were of several differentdistinct types- one of which was a pack horse but the others were saddle horses and military remounts.
Modern ASH come in all shapes & sizes, I wouldnt say they were all big or small as it is generalizing, you certainly cant pick a set ASH type these days
