SIDEBONE - ADVICE Empty SIDEBONE - ADVICE

We've just been given 14 yr old ASH gelding who was used as a poloX horse. His previous owner said he cant play polocross anymore due to sidebone's causing lameness but that he will be fine for light trail and pleasure. Does anyone know if he will be fine for that? It's all we want, but we dont want to cause him pain or to go lame again.
